Picking Accent Colors for Junk Journals
One of the many things I love about Junk Journals is how creatively free you can be. There are few rules and little pressure to follow them. I tend to finish off my Junk Journal Projects with a final touch/layer/whatever… I was looking at this group of Mass Make cards and realized they’d be a good example of one of the different ways I do this. 😉 In these examples – part of my projects for the Junk Journal #100DayChallenge – the final touch was stamping with a vintage Business Stamp I have (and yes, it’s a fav! 😉 ) I chose the ink colors I used for this final…

#100DayChallenge2024, 3 x 5 Projects, Ephemera, Junk Journal Ephemera, Junk Journal Kits, Mini Books
How a Junk Journal Idea Starts
This is how an Idea starts… 😉 I watched a YouTube Video by LUISE HEINZL – JUNK JOURNAL ART @luiseheinzl She and a friend were working on projects inspired by a vintage Tim Holtz book – Tim Holtz Distressables 2, published in 2008. I was lucky enough to snag a used copy on Amazon. As I was paging thru the book, I spotted a cute idea on page 6 – Mini Stitched Booklets. That project called for a lot of supplies that are no longer available, but it was easy to see that I could modify the format I have been using for the #100DayChallenge – the 3×5 format with…

#100DayChallenge2024, 3 x 5 Projects, Ephemera, Grunge Style, Junk Journal Cards/ATC, Junk Journal Ephemera, Junk Journal Making
Junk Journal Ephemera Timesavers
One of the valuable things I have learned while participating in the #100DayChallenge… Prepare ephemera elements ahead of time, so you can grab them and assemble them, whenever you have a few minutes. In the box to the left, I have many 3 x 5 cards printed and prepped. I have rounded the two corners on each and sometimes, have even distressed the edges. (I tend to distress edges on Mondays when my best friend and I talk on Skype for an hour. 😉 In the plastic boxes I have many, many pre-cut whale tail tabs in many, many colors. This means I can sort out a few 3×5 cards…

Some of My New Personal Stamps
As part of the 100 Day Challenge, I finished these last night. I used only my own stamp designs. 😉 I LURVE Whale Tail tabs, especially stamped. Last month, I designed an entire sheet (6″ x 4″) of stamps made up of insects that are small enough to fit on one side of a Whale Tail, so I used them here. Then, both sides of each 3″ x 5″ card was randomly stamped from my other personally designed grunge style stamps. I consider these all about 95% finished. I plan to leave them like this for now. When I use them in a project, I’ll add a little something to…

My New Natural History Library Clear Stamps
I love stamps and stamping! Clear stamps are my favorite type and my favorite theme is Grunge. Further, as a designer, I have strong ideas about stamps I want… (Tink Hint – Never shop for a sofa or shoes with a designer. 😉 ) Lately, to combat the “I Want Something That Doesn’t Exist” Syndrome, I have started designing my own stamps and having them made. 😉 Here are my most recent sets… All cut apart and ready to use! @RubberStamps_com #stampwithus RUBBERSTAMPS.com I did four Alphabet sets, seen here. The other two pictures feature the stamps I designed for the theme – ‘Natural History Library’. The images have been…

Small Ephemera Storage
Since I got my Silhouette Cameo 4 a couple of months ago, I have been cutting out digital ephemera like a crafting fool 😉 Both my own designs and those from other Makers… They fit nicely in plastic envelopes I got from Amazon, but I was soon overwhelmed. Where to put all of the envelopes? Anywho… I spent the last couple of days building boxes for them to live on a closet shelf. Sometime in the future, I’ll decorate the boxes. 😉 The one on its side (on the left side of the pic) is to hold the envelopes as I pull them for each project… To keep things organized…
